“Off The Mat Into The World uses the power of yoga to inspire conscious, sustainable activism and ignite grassroots social change. We do this by facilitating personal empowerment through leadership trainings, fostering community collaboration, and initiating local and global service projects.”

Each year, they sponsor an international service project called the Global Seva Challange, with a different focus each time.  This year’s seva challenge is focused on HIV/AIDS prevention and education in south africa.

Being 100% animal-free / cruelty-free, while producing functional shoes… how could you not be obsessed?

The name pays homage to Elizabeth’s Nordic heritage by combining her last name Olsen with ” haus” the German word for house.

“The philosophy of OlsenHaus is anchored in the universal truth, respect for all beings, with a dedication to the expression of  truth in the material world.  Products are made of non-animal materials, in sample rooms and factories that are personally checked for ethical practices & environmental impact.  The concept of Olsenhaus is to showcase alternative materials that are clever, sophisticated, fun and on trend, while promoting consciousness through example and education.”

I find this so unbelievably inspiring.

I always get inspired after the New Year to revamp myself, and things around me.  One thing this year I’ve vowed to spend more time doing is “giving back”.  I’ve done my homework, and I’ve found these two companies to be great ways to start getting involved.  If you know of any, please let me know! one.love
